- MicroMandella is a complete rewrite of an earlier program called Mandella. It
- sports a completely new interface but is missing many of Mandella's features. I'm
- working on adding the missing stuff but it may be awhile since school has started
- back up. When everything has been added I'll release a demo version as Mandella 6.0
-
- The stuff missing includes:
- 1) Multiple draw styles: these allow you to change the way the colors are
- assigned to pixels. For example Continuous Potential results in a very smooth
- shading of colors. Mandella 6.0 will have eight different draw styles.
- 2) Multiple fractals: Mandella 5.6 includes 40 different fractal types. Some of
- these are very nice. (My personal favorite is Newton3 drawn using Decomposition).
- 3) Transform options: After a fractal is drawn Mandella allows you to transform
- it into a new image. These options include various image processing algorithms
- (convolution) as well as transform to 3D form.
- 4) Automate options: these are various methods used to automate the production
- of fractals. For example you can generate a sequence of random Julia fractals or
- automatically zoom into a point. Mandella 5.6 includes six automate options.
-
- Mandella 5.6 is shareware and costs $25. Mandella 6.0 is not available yet (but
- will be $40). MicroMandella is free. All three include docs. If you don't have the
- docs for MicroMandella check wherever you received the program from.
-
- Changes from 1.0b1:
- 1) Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause crashes when a new window was created
- after closing a window.
- 2) Fixed a bug that caused the system to hang if MicroMandella finished drawing
- two windows in the background without being switched back in.
- 3) Removed BIX address from About box.
- 4) In the Window menu the text for the special purpose windows is now updated to
- reflect the windows status (e.g. frontmost, visible, or hidden).
- 5) Bump Counts is now remembered when the program quits.
- 6) Works better with 16 colors.
- 7) The palette should now be drawn with more then 256 colors.
- 8) The confirmation alerts for Revert and Quit without saving default to cancel
- so that no work will be lost if Return is pressed.

- PS: If anyone in the greater Seattle area is interested in hiring a part time programer
- I'm available! I know Pascal, Modula-2, MPW, and 68K assembler very well. I've also
- programmed in C, Basic, Forth and Fortran. I've been programming Macs since they first
- came out so I have a lot of experience with the Toolbox. I'm a double major at the UW.
- My majors are Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm a Senior in the Math dept. and a
- Junior in Comp Sci. I would *love* to get a programming job. If you have an opening
- please let me know.
