  1.     MicroMandella is a complete rewrite of an earlier program called Mandella. It
  2. sports a completely new interface but is missing many of Mandella's features. I'm
  3. working on adding the missing stuff but it may be awhile since school has started
  4. back up. When everything has been added I'll release a demo version as Mandella 6.0
  5.  
  6. The stuff missing includes:
  7.     1) Multiple draw styles: these allow you to change the way the colors are
  8. assigned to pixels. For example Continuous Potential results in a very smooth
  9. shading of colors. Mandella 6.0 will have eight different draw styles.
  10.     2) Multiple fractals: Mandella 5.6 includes 40 different fractal types. Some of 
  11. these are very nice. (My personal favorite is Newton3 drawn using Decomposition).
  12.     3) Transform options: After a fractal is drawn Mandella allows you to transform 
  13. it into a new image. These options include various image processing algorithms
  14. (convolution) as well as transform to 3D form. 
  15.     4) Automate options: these are various methods used to automate the production
  16. of fractals. For example you can generate a sequence of random Julia fractals or
  17. automatically zoom into a point. Mandella 5.6 includes six automate options.

  19.     Mandella 5.6 is shareware and costs $25. Mandella 6.0 is not available yet (but
  20. will be $40). MicroMandella is free. All three include docs. If you don't have the
  21. docs for MicroMandella check wherever you received the program from.

  23. Changes from 1.0b1:
  24.     1) Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause crashes when a new window was created
  25.         after closing a window.
  26.     2) Fixed a bug that caused the system to hang if MicroMandella finished drawing
  27.         two windows in the background without being switched back in.
  28.     3) Removed BIX address from About box.
  29.     4) In the Window menu the text for the special purpose windows is now updated to
  30.         reflect the windows status (e.g. frontmost, visible, or hidden).
  31.     5) Bump Counts is now remembered when the program quits.
  32.     6) Works better with 16 colors.
  33.     7) The palette should now be drawn with more then 256 colors.
  34.     8) The confirmation alerts for Revert and Quit without saving default to cancel
  35.         so that no work will be lost if Return is pressed.

  43. PS: If anyone in the greater Seattle area is interested in hiring a part time programer
  44. I'm available! I know Pascal, Modula-2, MPW, and 68K assembler very well. I've also
  45. programmed in C, Basic, Forth and Fortran. I've been programming Macs since they first
  46. came out so I have a lot of experience with the Toolbox. I'm a double major at the UW.
  47. My majors are Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm a Senior in the Math dept. and a
  48. Junior in Comp Sci. I would *love* to get a programming job. If you have an opening
  49. please let me know.
